Stephanie has a great summer camp planned. See below for all the exciting things she will be getting up to with the children. Every afternoon (weather permitting) they will be going to the Kentville pool.

Summer camp schedule 2016

Week #1 July 4th to 8th : Art & Creativity
Day 1~Make Cosmic Glue Sun Catchers
Day 2~Make Tin Foil Art
Day 3~Trip to the Market and Kentville Library
~Rock Painting (if time or we cannot go for a walk)
Day 4~Decorate Ceramic Tiles
Day 5~Squirt Gun Painting

Note: During this week we will talk about where we find art, different types of art etc.

Week #2 July 11th to 15th: Science
Day 1~ Make Goop, goop and more goop! (3 different kinds)
Day 2~Pipe Cleaner Crystals
Day 3~Blobs in a bottle
Day 4~Trip to the Kings County Museum 10am-11am; for the first half hour they will break the group up in to smaller groups and each group will go with a leader to go on a scavenger hunt throughout the museum. For the last half hour they are taking us up to the old trial room, where they will do a small mock trial with the children)
~Exploding Colors (if we have time or if the trip does not happen for some reason)
Day 5~Lego Science scavenger hunt

Week #3 July 18th to 22nd: Food
Day 1~ Talk about food groups, healthy vs non healthy etc. using Pictures and actual packaging
Day 2~ Trip to Independence grocery store, scavenger hunt/look and find grocery list to look for while we are there. Talk about healthy vs non healthy again etc.)
Day 3~Trip to the Market and buy/ try different foods that are sold there
Day 4~Make honey nut cheerio bars with the children
Day 5~Make blueberry pancakes with the children

Week#4 July 25th to 29th:Dinosaurs
Day 1~ Talk about different dinosaurs, characteristics etc (using laminated pictures)
Day 2~ Make balloon dinosaurs
Day3~ Dinosaur Bone Scavenger hunt/ Dig
Day 4~Talk about fossils and make our own fossils from salt dough
Day 5~ Make tube dinos

Week #5 August 1st to 5th: Art & Creativity Continued
Day 1~Make Yarn and Balloon Hanging balls
Day 2~ Crayon Melting Pictures
Day 3~Trip to Charles MacDonald concrete museum/house in Centreville. Take a trip through the museum and do a craft/art activity before we leave
~Make sun catchers (if time or if the trip falls through)
Day 4~Make Button Pictures
Day 5~ Make pictures using rocks

Week #6 August 8th to 12th: Outdoor Games
Day 1~Play popcorn parachute
Day 2~Nature scavenger hunt at the Marsh
Day 3~Play Lawn bowling
Day 4~Play Towel balloon toss
Day 5~Play ring toss and water balloon fight

Week#7 August 15th to 19th: Community
Day 1~Talk about community, what makes a community, who are in ours etc. and make thank you cards to hand out to members of the community
Day 2~EHS visit (Jeff a paramedic will be visiting at 9am. He may have an ambulance if one is available for the children to explore as well)
Day 3~Trip to the Kentville market
Day 4~Walk through Kentville and hand thank you cards out to community businesses. Mail any at the post office that the children would like to give to other places out of walking distance
Day 5~ Trip to the recycling facility. Going on Kings Transit.

Week #8 August 22nd to 26th: Mix-it-up
Day 1~ Crazy Hair Day and Minute to win it games
Day 2~Bring an item for show and tell day
Day 3~Sensory guessing game
Day 4~Trip to Henagar’s farm market via Kings Transit
Day 5~ Pajama Day and watch a movie

Looks like a busy fun summer!

Summer camp 2016

Summer Break Camps


$125 per week

6-10 year olds (must have done one year of school)

Themes :- July 4-8 Art and creativity, July 11-15 Science, July 28-22 Food, July 25-29 Dinosaurs, Aug 1-5 Art and creativity cont., Aug 8-12 Community, Aug 15-19 Outdoor games, Aug 22-26 Mix-it-up

We will be taking the group every afternoon to the Kentville pool so please ensure you pack swim wear.

It goes without saying: all children must come prepared to spend a lot of time outside and so bring sun hats and sunscreen. Please bring a packed lunch and water bottle (Fruit will be available all day and morning and afternoon snacks will be provided).

March Break 2015

March Break Camp

5-11 year olds

 Please bring a packed lunch (fruit will be available throughout the day.

It goes without saying that all children should come prepared to spend time outside and so bring snow pants, jackets, hats gloves and winter boots.
